Last Night sitting on one of the decks at Snowbird Mountain Lodge we noticed that the cicadas were beginning to quiet down, the breezes are picking up in the evenings and the sky is getting clearer. All of these are sure signs that summer is drawing to a close and that fall is in the air. Elizabeth and I walked Huckleberry Knob off of the Cherohala Skyway yesterday in the fog and both of us noted all of the changes that are coming. It is one of our favorite times of year. The days are still warm, but not hot and the nights and mornings cool. Fires again are burning in the fireplaces and conversations are lively. Like all of the times we think it’s a perfect time to be here on the mountain. Whether you’re coming here to drive the Tail of the Dragon, walk the trails of the Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest or a cruise on Lake Santeetlah, we hope that you will consider this invitation to stop in and enjoy mountain hospitality at its finest. Spend the night, share a meal or even a glass of wine and let’s toast to the great adventure ahead!!!
